Alside Introduces Satinwood® Select Steel Siding

Kynar® PVDF High Performance Metal Coated Siding

June 1, 2014 – CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio – Alside, a leading manufacturer of siding and windows, has expanded its Class A Fire Rating steel siding collection – delivering long-term durability and protection against weathering, corrosion and abrasion unparalleled in the industry.

“Satinwood® Select steel siding allows homeowners to achieve an upscale appearance, impressive strength and maintenance-free dependability,” said Dana Schindler, senior vice president of marketing for Associated Materials, LLC, Alside’s parent company.  “Exceptionally strong and aesthetically pleasing, it won’t chalk, pit or chip, and has an extraordinary capacity to retain its refined uniform appearance.”

Because of the strength of the Galvalume® AZ-50 steel, combined with the high-performance coating technology of Kynar® PVDF, Satinwood Select can be used in many applications and even in some of the harshest of environments. Each pretreated steel panel is virtually weather-sealed, making it practically impervious to outdoor elements including excessive winds, and extreme temperatures.

Satinwood Select is available in three distinctive profiles:  Double 4” Clapboard, 8” Clapboard and 12” Vertical Board & Batten.  The traditional elegance of each panel is further accentuated with a natural-looking roughsawn (Double 4” and 8” Clapboard) and medium woodgrain (12” Vertical Board & Batten) texture.

Twelve designer colors, including warm and cool neutral tones and darker bold hues, speak to today’s color trends and add valuable dimension and visual appeal.  Matching trim and accessories complete the collection, inspiring a finished look that reflects the homeowner’s custom color preferences.

Satinwood Select is also the smart choice for sustainability and green building practices.  Unlike most conventional products, steel is 100% recyclable and can lower the amount of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted into the atmosphere.
